PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 9, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — A limited number of free ceremony-only tickets to the National Constitution Center’s Liberty Medal Ceremony honoring U.S. Representative and civil rights icon John Lewis will be made available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. The ceremony will take place Monday, September 19, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall.

The free general public tickets can be reserved at constitutioncenter.org or by calling 800-439-9835 beginning at 10 a.m. on August 17. Guests are limited to two tickets per household. Due to high call volume, the National Constitution Center recommends reserving tickets online.
 
Members of the National Constitution Center will be able to reserve their free ceremony-only tickets a day early beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Members are limited to two tickets per household.
 
To renew a membership or become a National Constitution Center Member prior to August 16 visit constitutioncenter.org/membership or call 215-409-6767.
 
Members of the National Constitution Center will receive an email on August 9 and again on August 16 with instructions on how to reserve their tickets. Due to high call volume, the National Constitution Center recommends that Members reserve their tickets online.

The National Constitution Center’s Liberty Medal Ceremony will take place rain or shine and will be taped by WPVI-TV/6ABC for broadcast across select ABC affiliated stations. 
 
National Constitution Center Trustee, Ira Lubert of Lubert Adler, will sponsor the Liberty Medal award in 2016, as he has for the past nine years. Citizens Bank, which has sponsored the Liberty Medal since 2006, has returned as Chairman’s Reception Sponsor. Stradley Ronon, LLP has also returned as the President’s Reception Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.
