CHICAGO, Nov. 2, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Nadim Z. Baba, DMD, MSD, FACP, has been installed as vice president of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) for a one-year term. Dr. Baba was sworn in during the 46th Annual Session of the ACP held in San Diego Oct. 5-8, 2016.

Dr. Baba received his DMD degree from the University of Montréal. He completed a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics and a Master’s degree in Restorative Sciences in Prosthodontics from Boston University School of Dentistry in 1999. Dr. Baba currently serves as a Professor and Director of the Hugh Love Center for Research and Education in Technology at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics.

Dr. Baba has been on the ACP Board of Directors, and served as the Region 5 Director (Pacific) for the last 4 years. He also served on the Private Practice Manual Task Force which, during his tenure, developed a DVD version of the private practice manual. Dr. Baba has also been a part of the ACP Nominating Committee, the National Prosthodontics Awareness Week Task Force, the Task Force Section Sponsorship ACP CPE Course, as well as the Judicial Committee.

In addition, Dr. Baba was the Vice-Chair of the ACPEF Annual Appeal for two years, which helped start a course at the 2014 ACP Annual Session on Transitioning into Private Practice. Outside of the ACP, Dr. Baba has given over 100 national and international presentations, and regularly reviews and edits industry publications the Journal of Prosthodontics, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of Dental Traumatology where he also serves as an Associate editor.
